Label 100% leather

"Footwear" is defined as any article with applied soles designed to protect or cover the foot, including parts marketed separately.

Labelling:
•    The label has to indicate the information about the composition of the footwear.
•    The label has to inform about the three parts of the footwar:

Instep: it is the outer face of the structural element which is attached to the sole.

Lining and insole: these are the lining of the upper and the insole, constituting the inside of the footwear article.

Sole: it is the under part of the footwear, which is subject to wear and friction and it is attached to the instep.

•    The composition can be indicated through pictograms or through written indications.

Leather: it is the skin of an animal which conserves its characteristics and which has been tanned in a way that makes it rot-proof. The expression “full-grain leather” means that it is a leather which conserves its original grain, when the epidermis has been removed and no sanding or division has been made to remove the layer.

Coated leather: leather covered with a layer of grease bigger than 0,15mm, but which does not exceed a third of the total product thickness.

That means that often we can see children’s footwear labeled like leather but it has a 20% of other materials. (This is not our case, our seal of quality guarantees the production of our bootees entirely of leather, as well as our footwear for pre walkers, with the exception of the sole).
•    If no material represents at least the 80%, there must be information about the two main materials which compose the footwear.
•    The information must appear on the footwear through pictograms or through written indications, which will be, at least, in Spanish.
•    The labeling consists of providing the prescribed indications to at least one of the shoes of each pair. The labeling can be printed, stuck, embossed or using an attached label.

•    In case of pictograms, their size must be big enough to make them easier to understand.
